Young boys and girls can become Pokémon Trainers at the age of 10 by getting a Starter Pokémon from a Pokémon professor such as Professor Oak. They must then journey across their region and earn eight Gym Badges from Gym Leaders. They then compete in a Pokémon League Conference. They then challenge an elite group of trainers known as the Elite Four and their Champion. If they have collected every Pokémon known, they will become Pokémon Masters.
Pokémon Trainers can carry six Pokémon.
